Garfield Town Board Meeting
December 12, 2017

Meeting called to orderby Chairman, Ed Gullickson, at 7:00 pm.
Public Comments: Ron Cormican asked for a legal description on his condominiums for future sales and inquired about impact fees and lot sizes. Board is referring this matter to the Planning Committee.
Road Work: Mark Knutson stated that the Paser report is done. Maintenance has used more salt sand to get more ice off the roads. Some patching was done prior to the freezing rain. M Knutson stated that they are looking at clearing some trees out of the right of ways when it’s nice out during the winter months. Board decided to give the two maintenance workers a $100 year-end bonus.
Board stated that a loan for $200,000 for the 2.75 miles to blacktop of 130th, Big Lake Drive, and Kennedy Mill from Bremer at 4% to mature at the end of August 2018. Motion made by Gullickson/Mork to approve a short loan for $200,000 with a 4% interest rate with a maturity date of August 31, 2018. Carried-unanimously.
Hubred Building Permit: Joe Hubred came to pick up his building permit. Board explained to Hubred about the fine for starting construction without a permit. Hubred will call clerk tomorrow to pay and pick up permit.
Clerk’s Report: Submitted and reviewed.
Approval of Vouchers: Submitted, signed and approved. Motion made by Stroebel/Mork to approve submitted vouchers. Carried-unanimously.
Treasurer’s Report: Submitted and reviewed.
Approval of Monthly Board Minutes: Motion made by Stroebel/Mork to approve the December 12, 2017, Board minutes as submitted. Carried-unanimously.
Adjourn: Motion made by Mork/Stroebel to adjourn meeting, 7:30 pm. Carried-unanimously.
