Public Hearing Meeting called to orderby Chairman, Ed Gullickson, at 7:00 pm.

 

Public hearing is for the purpose of vacating a portion of Prospect Avenue Right of Way on Lake Wapogasset.  Gullickson explained the portion that Traynor’s and two adjorning landowners are requesting to vacate.  Letter from the Petersons, who are for the proposition, was read by the Board.  Turek-Shays have submitted a letter objecting to the proposition and table the matter.  Turek-Shays stated that their garbage removal service would be cancelled due to the vacating the proposed right of way and the placement of a gate.  Turek-Shays also stated the EMS would not be able to access their home in case of an emergency.  Gullickson stated that emergency vehicles would still be able to have access to their property.  Traynors explained that there are rentals on the road and strangers are walking down the road and go onto their property along with the Peterson’s and Anderson’s properties.  Traynors also explained that Turek-Shays have built structures on their property.  Traynors stated that they maintain their portion of the right of way.  Turek-Shays stated that there are boulders placed in the easement.  Traynor stated that Turek-Shays have placed things in the easement.  Stroebel stated that this is not a public road and that it is a private road easement.  Gullickson stated that it will never be a public road.  Gullickson, Stroebel, and Mork will meet at the property at 2:00 pm tomorrow to view the property and convene the meeting there for approval/decision and both parties aware of this matter.  No other comments were brought up.

 

Public hearing is now closed at 7:39 pm.

Public Comments:  None.

 

Vacating a Portion of Prospect Avenue Right of Way:  Matter is tabled until it is reconvened at the property tomorrow at 2:00 pm.  Motion made by Gullickson/Stroebel to table matter until tomorrow at 2:00 pm.  Carried-unanimously.

 

Road Maintenance/Maintenance Building:  Joe Merchak, State Building Inspector, came and inspected the shop and submitted a checklist that needs to be completed within nine months.  Mark Knutson stated that a resident would like to have the intersection at El Salem church be a three-way stop for safety reasons.  Motion made by Gullickson/Mork to make the intersection a three-way stop.  Carried-unanimously.  Knutson stated that a speed zone sign will be replaced by Sunrise Beach, there is currently one on the north end but the south end is missing.  Dave Campbell has been mowing the ditches.  Gullickson talked about fixing the open faced storage building next year. 

 

Maintenance Building Fence:  Proposal from Midwest Fencing has been submitted for consideration of erecting a privacy fence on the west side of the maintenance building.  Board stated that the fence matter will be year.

 

Approval of Election Inspectors/Workers:  The election workers/inspectors list (same as previous) has been submitted to the board for approval.  Shelley Budke is willing to take over for Joyce Gullickson as one of the chief inspectors and take the necessary training; each will stay on as election workers.  Shirley Ganter will remain head chief inspector.  Motion made by Gullickson/Mork to approve the election workers/chief inspectors as submitted.  Carried-unanimously.

 

Liquor License for New Owners of Waterside Bar and Grill:  Stugelmayer/Curry introduced themselves.  The proposed buyers of the Waterside Bar and Grill are Brian Stugelmayer and Theresa Curry.  Stugelmayer and Curry’s background checks have been completed along with the necessary paperwork for the new licenses/owners.  Closing of the purchase is scheduled for tomorrow.  Motion made by Stroebel/Mork to approve the new liquor license and operator’s licenses for Waterside Bar & Grill, Brian Stugelmayer and Theresa Curry as submitted.  Carried-unanimously.

 

Interview for Building Inspector:  Ben Campbell introduced himself.  Campbell currently has 11 contracts from the consortium.  Gullickson asked if Campbell is commercial certified, Campbell stated that he was.  Gullickson suggested that Campbell go to the Town’s website to review the Zoning Ordinance.  Campbell stated that he would be comfortable being the Town’s Zoning Administrator.  Motion made by Stroebel/Mork to approve Ben Campbell as the new building inspector.  Carried-unanimously.

 

Set Budget Date:  Budget date to be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at 7:00 pm.  Motion made by Gullickson/Stroebel to set the budget hearing date for Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at 7:00 pm.  Carried-unanimously.

 

Clerk’s Report:  Submitted and reviewed. 

 

Approval of Vouchers:  Submitted, signed and approved.  Motion made by Stroebel/Mork to approve submitted vouchers.  Carried-unanimously.

 

Treasurer’s Report:  Submitted and reviewed.

 

Approval of Monthly Board Minutes:  Motion made by Stroebel/Mork to approve the September 10, 2017, Board minutes as submitted.  Carried-unanimously.  

 

Adjourn:  Motion made by Mork/Stroebel to adjourn meeting, at 8:40 pm.  Carried-unanimously.
