Garfield Town Board Meeting
April 14, 2015

Meeting called to orderby Chairman, Ed Gullickson, at 7:50 pm.
Public Comments: None.
Road Maintenance: Jim Farhner’s son is taking over business and will get the Town a price quote on chip sealing.
Scott Ward questioned Gullickson on 150th Street. Permit will be submitted and will be good for five years. Gullickson inquired if the road would be considered for TRIP funding, Ward stated that he would look into it.
Dead trees by Arlene Anderson’s property have been taken down and removed.
Mork stated that 180th and 80th by Lee Rasmussen’s has very little shoulders.
UTV Vehicle addition to Ordinance No. 2-2010: Stroebel reviewed Ordinance No 2-2010 to see where we could add the UTV. Stroebel stated that under Section I – Title and Purpose to add to paragraph “for purposes of this Ordinance, all-terrain vehicles include utility terrain vehicles (commonly known as UTVs).”
Motion made by Stroebel/Mork to amend Ordinance No2-2010 to contain under Section I – Title and Purpose to add to paragraph “for purposes of this Ordinance, all-terrain vehicles include utility terrain vehicles (commonly known as UTVs)”. Carried-unamiously.
Vacating Right-of-Way on Big Lake Park: Tabled to next month.
Board of Review Date: Open Book is scheduled for June 4 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Board of Review is scheduled for June 4 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Maintenance Garage: Mark Knutson, Scott Ward reviewed the revised plans for the new maintenance building. The Board, Knutson and Ward discussed the plans. Board will be the general on the project.
Emergency Siren at Park: Mark Knutson stated that he received new keys for the siren. Siren is not phone automated yet. Knutson stated that he does not have a manual for the siren.
Wanderoos Community Club Request for Road Closure: Wanderoos Lions Club has changed to the Wanderoos Community Club. The Community Club would like to close 70th Avenue from Highway 65 to the east side of the ball park on the 4th of July parade. Club would like to close it after the parade till dusk. Gullickson stated we will do it this year to see how it goes.
Motion made by Gullickson/Stroebel to close from Knutson’s east boarder to the ball park’s west boarder from noon to 8p. Carried-unamiously.
Park: Dave Nelson submitted a list of things that need to be done. Discussion on list.
Clerk’s Report: Submitted and reviewed.
Approval of Vouchers: Submitted, signed and approved. Motion made by Stroebel/Mork to approve submitted vouchers. Carried-unanimously.
Treasurer’s Report: Submitted and reviewed.
Approval of Monthly Board Minutes: Motion made by Stroebel/Mork to approve the April 14, 2015, Board minutes as submitted. Carried-unanimously.
Adjourn: Motion made by Mork/Stroebel to adjourn meeting, 9:10 pm. Carried-unanimously.
