Garfield Town Board Meeting

September 13, 2022

Meeting called to orderby Chairman, Ed Gullickson, at 7:00 pm.

 

Public Comments:  David Millard has asked the Board about the drainage issue on Lone Pine Lane.  Board has looked into this matter and stated that there is property issues and time issued involved and that this matter would not be addressed until next year.  Gullickson gave a brief explanation about the surrounding properties and how this matter came about.

 

Kent Munson submitted photographs to the Board regarding South Bear Lake Road showing pothole and washboard of gravel road.  Munson would like to see more work done on the road.  Maintenance requested that Munson notify them (maintenance or the Board) when it needs attention.

 

Road Construction Update:  The roads that have been pulverized are ready to be paved.

 

Garfield Park Fencing:  New fence has been installed.

 

Complaint Concerning Parking, Past 10pm Curfew, Noise at Mix Up Bar:  Dale and Sue Olson came to the Board about the parking, noise, and curfew times in regard to The Mix Up (Liz Sieben).  Olsons stated that they have contacted Sieben about the issues but the problems continue to occur.  Board stated that they will contact Sieben about the issues.  Olsons stated that The Mix Up has bands 5 days a week.  This is not what Sieben agreed to the Board about per Olsons.  When Sieben took over the business she stated to the Board that she would have a band for a couple of hours one or two days a week for a few hours. Board stated that it has been getting complaint calls from people to the south.

 

Planning Committee - Update:  Dave Nelson gave the Board an update on the ordinances that are being worked on.

 

Request to Approve Lot Issue on Big Lake Correction:  Saphire Realty requested a correction to the easement lot number that was in last month’s meeting minutes.  The address number should be 606 and not 612.  Motion made and seconded to correct the August minutes to 606 Big Lake Court for the existing structure.

 

Sunrise Beach Boat Landing Grant Application:  Board explained to Virginia Henrikson how the engineer has presented the project in regard to filling in the inlet (which includes Henrikson’s property) and moving the dock and boat landing.  Henrikson will email DNR with her approval after receiving final plans.

 

Other Business That May Come Before the Board:  None.

 

Clerk’s Report:  Submitted and reviewed. 

 

Approval of Vouchers:  Submitted, signed and approved.  Motion made and seconded to approve submitted vouchers.  Carried-unanimously.

 

Treasurer’s Report:  Submitted and reviewed.

 

Approval of Monthly Board Minutes:  Motion made and seconded to approve the September 13, 2022, Board minutes as submitted.  Carried-unanimously.  

 

Adjourn:  Motion made and seconded to adjourn meeting, 8:35 pm.  Carried-unanimously.
