Garfield Town Board Meeting
May 14, 2013

Meeting called to orderby Chairman, Ed Gullickson, at 7:00 pm.
Public Comments: Tom Magnafici stated that he wanted to donate an installed underground sprinkler system at the Town Hall.
Road Construction: Road patching has been started and will be completed shortly. The additional parking lot at park has started and will be completed this year.
Discussion on Ford 550 Truck: Mark Knutson submitted quotes to the Board on a new truck from Cox Motors and Johnson Motors. Bernards chose not to submit a bid. Monroe Truck and Equipment and also Universal Truck and Equipment gave quotes on truck beds. Stroebel had concerns in regards to a stainless steel verse mild steel beds and requested that M Knutson get quotes on both. Gullickson inquired about financing with a no-penalty for prepayment. Gullickson, Mork, Stroebel, and M Knutson will later meet when M Knutson gets the additional information and make the final decision then. The Ford 550 will either be traded in or sold on an auction.
Discussion on Housing of Town Equipment: Gullickson sold the land where the Town’s equipment has been stored. New owner is willing to rent buildings back to the Town. Gullickson stated that the Town should and will pay rent to new owner till Town consider and resolves a permanent storage arrangement. Gullickson will take care of obtaining a proposed rental agreement and fee for decision at next months’ meeting.
Planned Updates for the Garfield Park: Steps at park will be constructed and Scott Ward from Stevens Engineers and M Knutson will get plans. Dave Nelson wants to donate flag poles to the park. Gullickson wants to see a plaque with names of people/places that were major contributors to the park.
Required Record Documentation for Building Permits: S Knutson will draft a letter to building inspector in regards to record keeping for Gullickson’s approval.
Clerk’s Report: Submitted and reviewed.
Approval of Vouchers: Submitted, signed and approved. Motion made by Stroebel/Mork to approve submitted vouchers. Carried-unanimously.
Treasurer’s Report: Submitted and reviewed.
Approval of Board Minutes: Motion made by Stroebel/Mork to approve the May 14, 2013, Board minutes as submitted. Carried-unanimously.
Adjourn: Motion made by Gullickson/Mork to adjourn meeting, 7:55 pm. Carried-unanimously.
