Comprehensive Planning

The Plan Commission Ordinance No. 1-2004, passed in April, 2004, provides a complete description of the purpose, authority, responsibility, membership and procedures governing the commission. The overall purpose of the Plan Commission is to further the health, safety, welfare and wise use of resources for the benefit of current and future residents of the Town, through the adoption and implementation of comprehensive planning with significant citizen involvement. The Plan Commission revues proposed land development and makes recommendations to the Town Board for approval.

Meetings are a minimum of one per month at the Town Hall in Wanderoos. Training and educational opportunities are made available to members and fees are paid by the Town. Members are compensated $15 for attending each Plan Commission meeting, usually one per month.

Garfield citizens who are interested in participating in the future development of Garfield Town and who are willing to contribute their time and talent to that task are invited to submit their application for consideration by the Town Board.

Meeting times are the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM at the town hall.
