Garfield Town Board Meeting
July 10, 2018

Meeting called to orderby Chairman, Ed Gullickson, at 7:00 pm.
Public Comments: Brent Waak introduced himself and stated that he’s running for the Polk County Sheriff position.
Matthew Knutson asked the Board if the Town is in need for animal control, i.e. beavers clogging culverts, etc. Gullickson stated yes and that he should submit a price for fees on each species.
Road Maintenance: Tree limbs were trimmed on 93rdand 180th. Maintenance will install some chevrons on 138thjust north of 70thAvenue. One pass of ditch mowing is done. Chip-sealing is being done.
New By-Laws for Fire Association: The new by-laws for the Allied Emergency Services f/k/a Dresser Osceola Garfield Fire Association were submitted. Motion made by Mork/Gullickson to approve the new by-laws for the Allied Emergency Services. Carried-unanimously.
Operator/Bartender Licenses: Submitted information to board. Motion made by Gullickson/Mork to approve operator licenses. Carried-unanimously.
Review of Livestock Dog Damage on South Bear Lake Road: Gale Zahnow submitted an invoice for damages to livestock by Kelli Doolittle’s dogs. The dogs killed one ewe and sixteen lambs for an estimated amount of $2400. Dogs are not licensed with the Town. Gullickson will talk with an attorney and get final directions on procedure in finalizing the claim.
Clerk’s Report: Submitted and reviewed.
Approval of Vouchers: Submitted, signed and approved. Motion made by Gullickson/Mork to approve submitted vouchers. Carried-unanimously.
Treasurer’s Report: Submitted and reviewed.
Approval of Monthly Board Minutes: Motion made by Gullickson/Mork to approve the July 10, 2018, Board minutes as submitted. Carried-unanimously.
Adjourn: Motion made by Mork/Gullickson to adjourn meeting, 7:40 pm. Carried-unanimously.
