Town of Garfield Plan Commission Meeting
Meeting Minutes
July 14, 2011
Meeting called to order at 7:05pm.
In attendance: Orval Johnson, Chairman; Marilyn Buckingham, Member; Barry Eklund, Member; Darrell
Emerson, Member; Mark Kopp, Member; George Stroebel, Member; Natalie Trudeau, Member; Nolan Wall,
Planner from Stevens Engineering
Members absent: none
Public comment: none
Junk Vehicle Ordinance &Dog Nuisance Ordinance: Both ordinances were approved by Town Board at the July
12th Town Board meeting.
Zoning Ordinance Amendments – Accessory Buildings: Motion to approve square footage changes to proposed
amendments regarding Height and Area Standards [Article 4, Section C.3] (Eklund/Kopp) motion carried
unanimously. Motion to approve proposed amendments regarding Permitted Use - Residential District [Article 3,
Section D.1.a] and set public hearing date for next scheduled Plan Commission Meeting to be held August 11th at
7pm (Buckingham/Eklund) motion carried unanimously.
Review Draft Wind Energy Licensing Ordinance: Changes to DRAFT ordinance: Section E; Section G.2.b.vi;
Section G.8.g; Section G.10.a & b; Section I.2 removed; Section N.3; Nolan will look at Section G.8.a.
Other Business: Nolan provided 2010 Census info for review and recommended that the Plan Commission take a
look at the Town’s Comprehensive Plan based on the most recent data.
Next Plan Commission Meeting and Public Hearing to amend Zoning Ordinance: August 11th at 7pm
