Town of Garfield Plan Commission Secretary’s Minutes Meeting
of 04/02/09
Meeting called to order at 7:05 p.m.
In attendance: Orval Johnson, Chair; Marilyn Buckingham, Member; Sylvan Erickson,
Secretary; Nolan Wall, Planner from Stevens Engineers and Scott Ward Town of
Garfield Engineer.
Absent: Mark Knutson, Member; Gordon Lindahl, Member.
Public Comments: None.
Ed Moersfelder presented his final plan for creating a new CSM as a minor subdivision to
separate a 12 acre parcel of land located in the SW ¼, SW 1/4, and in Government Lots 3
and 4, all in Section 9, Town 33 North, Range 17 West, Town of Garfield.
Motion to recommend the Town Board approve Ed Moersfelder’s request.
[Marilyn/Sylvan] Motion passed.
We reviewed the working draft of the subdivision ordinance. Design standards were
discussed and we will further review this subject to potentially improve the subdivision
ordinance. For the next meeting we should read the zoning ordinance and conservation
subdivision information provided by Nolan Wall.
The working draft of the road ordinance was discussed. The driveway ordinance will be
absorbed by the road ordinance. Language will be added to allow for field driveways.
Road classifications need to be added.
We would like the former Zoning Administrator for the Town of St. Croix Falls to come
and discuss his experiences with us.
Orval reported on the Western Wisconsin Working Lands Workshop which was held in
New Richmond.
