Town of Garfield Planning Commission Secretary’s Minutes Meeting
of 5/10/07
In attendance: Orval Johnson, Chair; Marilyn Buckingham, Member; Gordan Lindahl,
member; Mark Knutson, Member; Sylvan Erickson, Secretary; Suzanne Peeples of
Stevens Engineering.
Guest: Carolyn Lumsden, property owner.
Absent: None
The meeting was called to order at 7:08 p.m.
The minutes of 4/12/07 were approved as presented. [Orval/Marilyn]
Suzanne Peeples mentioned that we need “the contract” from the State to be signed by Ed
Gullickson or other authorized signer.
Suzanne Peeples went through the draft Community Survey question by question. The
committee made suggestions on improving the survey.
A motion was made to recommend the Township spend the extra money to include selfaddressed
stamped return envelopes with the survey. [Mark/Gordan] Motion passed.
Marilyn urged the committee to take advantage of Polk County’s comprehensive
planning efforts and she distributed the details and summary of the Polk County Planning
Grant Proposal.
