Minutes of Park Committee Meeting June 13, 2007
Attendance: David Nelson, Steve Christenson, Joyce Gullickson, Mary Lou Stanley

David Nelson called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.
Minutes of the May 9th, 2007 - MS made the motion that the minutes be approved as amended.
SC seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Park Grand Opening Discussion:
There have been offers of food from Monarch Paving, Bergman Construction, Scot Seal Coating,
and Stevens Engineering. We need to get this organized so we know just what the Town will
need to purchase.
Joann Hallquist is writing a history of the park. Perhaps she could give a talk at the ceremony.
Also, considered for input were the Myrwolds, Andy Boe and Clarence DeLawyer.
It was mentioned that boaters should be encouraged to attend the opening by boat.
Newspapers and Channel 5 in the Twin Cities are to be notified of the event.
Discussions for the need of speed bumps resulted in the decision to purchase two – one to be
placed by the large pavilion (River Pavilion) & also one placed by the Lake Pavilion.
There will be a committee & volunteer park clean up day on the 14th of July.
Mark Knutson has been hired by the Town to take care of Park and Road Maintenance – he will
keep watering the trees, shrubs and new grass at the park. This was a concern of the committee.
Signs were discussed – needed information:
Security, rules, milfoil, one on dam/spillway as to it being private property, parking areas, No
swimming, trash receptacles will have “please, put refuse here”
The entrance sign may not be installed by the opening date. This will include a picture of the
lake.
June 27th there will be a special meeting of the park committee.
Next meeting July 11th.
SC moved that the meeting adjourned. MS seconded the motion. Motion passed.
