Informational Meeting for Engineering Firms: May 11, 2005, 3:00 PM

Engineering Firms: Daniel Carthel, Carthel Engineering; Scott Ward, Stevens Engineers;
Dennis Blau, Cedar Corporation.
This was a rather informal meeting to inform the engineering firms as to what the Town of
Garfield and this committee has in mind for the future of Garfield Park. Also, to have them give
us further ideas as to what they would recommend. Each representative was given a recent survey
map of the Park. All present walked the perimeter to see the stakes and just where the future
parking lot may be, the wetlands that have been determined (it was questioned whether this was by
the DNR), where the boat landing is projected to be, where the new access road would be placed,
the new boundaries for the Castaway trailer park, and the possible sites for shelters and restrooms.
Discussion:
There was general discussion about just what the DNR would do for the boat landing and whether
someone from the DNR had actually walked the area. Ed Gullickson would probably know the
answers to these questions.
The need for lighting was brought up - something that would not be intrusive for the neighbors
across the stream.
Each engineering firm was asked to provide 2 copies of their proposal by June11 as the Park
Committee meets on June 15th.

Since this was more of an informational meeting for the engineering firms, there was no formal
adjournment.
